Terms & Conditions

By confirming the booking and paying the deposit to Discover Llŷn (“We”, “Us”), the hirer/participant (“You”) agrees to the following terms and conditions.

Proof of Identification

Proof of identification must be provided by the lead hirer and be in the form of photographic ID (Driving Licence / Passport).

Security Deposit

A £250 security deposit is taken on a credit card pre-authorisation basis; this is where the funds for the deposit are reserved by your bank, it is not a charge and no funds will have been debited from your account. The funds are “ring fenced” for the duration of pre-authorisation. The pre-authorisation will be cancelled when the e-bike(s) and related equipment is returned in a satisfactory condition.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that You, and anyone else in your group, use the e-bike(s) safely and correctly and that You will follow the Highway Code.

You are responsible for ensuring that You, and anyone else in your group, are suitably physically fit to cycle without risk of injury.

When hiring the e-bike(s), You are acknowledging that cycling carries with it inherent risks including, but not limited to, those posed by road traffic; other cyclists; loose, slippery or uneven terrain; pedestrians; and animals. You are agreeing not to operate the e-bike(s) under the influence of alcohol, strong medication or other drugs. By continuing with the booking/hire You acknowledge to Us that You accept all risks associated with cycling.

If for any reason We believe You, or any member of your group, cannot competently ride the e-bike we reserve the right not to issue You with any cycling equipment.

Loss or Damage

You are responsible for managing the security of the e-bike(s) whilst under hire. You will be required to indemnify Us for any loss or damage that might occur to the e-bike(s) and/or related equipment on hire. Any charges will firstly be taken out of Your Security Deposit. If the cost of repairing the damage or replacing the e-bike(s) is, in our opinion, higher than the sum of the Security Deposit, You will be required to pay any excess sum.

Security

When left unattended the e-bike(s) must be secured with the lock provided to a fixed object through the frame. If You are keeping the e-bike(s) overnight they must be secured inside a locked building.

E-Bikes and Helmets

We use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that all e-bikes are regularly maintained, safety checked, and/or replaced as necessary. At the time of hire, we will advise You on the operation of the e-bikes.

It is illegal for anyone under the age of 14 to ride an e-bike. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We provide a helmet with each e-bike and strongly recommend that You wear it whilst cycling. We will not bear any liability for any injury or damage that results from Your failure to wear a helmet.

During the Hire

Should You become aware of a mechanical fault with the e-bike, You must stop riding and contact us immediately for assistance.

E-bikes must not be submerged in water. Cycling in the rain is fine but deep puddles/fords must be avoided.

You are not permitted to cycle on the beach or the Coast Path.

Cancellation

We require at least 48 hours notice for free cancellation. Any later than that and You will be charged 50% of the total price.

We appreciate that sometimes the weather simply isn’t conducive with going on an e-bike adventure. As such, if the day/s You have booked is forecast to be a wash-out, we will always do our best to move your booking to a more suitable day. If rearranging is not possible, we will refund You.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that You (and anyone else in Your party) use the Paddleboard(s) safely and correctly.

You are responsible for ensuring that You (and anyone else in Your party) are suitably physically fit to Paddleboard without risk of injury.

When hiring the Paddleboard(s) You are acknowledging that Paddleboarding carries with it inherent risks including, but not limited to, those posed by water such as drowning or head injury. By continuing with the hire You acknowledge to Us that You accept all risks associated with Paddleboarding.

Each Hirer will have a designated Party Leader who will be over the age of 18 years. We reserve the right to refuse hire to any group/person that hasn’t met this condition.

Loss or Damage

You are responsible for managing the security of the paddleboard(s) whilst under hire. You will be required to indemnify Us for any loss or damage that might occur to the paddleboard(s) and/or related equipment on hire. Any charges will firstly be taken out of Your Security Deposit. If the cost of repairing the damage or replacing the paddleboard(s) is, in our opinion, higher than the sum of the Security Deposit, You will be required to pay any excess sum.

Paddleboards

We use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that all paddleboards are regularly maintained, safety checked, and/or replaced as necessary.

We provide a buoyancy aid and safety leash with each paddleboard and you are required to wear both. We will not bear any liability for any injury or damage that results from Your failure to wear a buoyancy aid or use the safety leash.

During the Hire

Should You become aware of a mechanical fault with the paddleboard(s), You must stop your activity and contact us immediately for assistance.

Cancellation

We require at least 48 hours notice for free cancellation. Any later than that and You will be charged 50% of the total price.

We appreciate that sometimes the weather simply isn’t conducive with paddleboarding. As such, if the day/s You have booked is forecast to be unsuitable, we will always do our best to move your booking to a more suitable day. If rearranging is not possible, we will refund You.
